A Port Coquitlam couple say they are so happy they can’t sleep after winning big on the lottery.
Wife Liezl and husband Edgar matched all four numbers playing the Lotto 6/49 draw, winning $500,000 on 26 September 2020.
The Canadian couple were at home doing laundry when Panganiban decided to check their tickets.
“I told my husband that someone had won in Port Coquitlam,” Liezl said. “I decided to check our Mega Pack ticket and it came up as a non-winner.”
Edgar then remembered he had another ticket for the draw and gave it to his wife to check.
“When it came up a winner we were both really excited,” said Edgar.
“There are a lot of mixed emotions, it feels unreal,” Liezl said, adding that they plan to help out family in the Philippines. “This is a really big, life-changing thing for us.”
“We have been saving to put a down payment on a house for a while now, this will really help with that,” Edgar added.
The two also hope to begin yearly family trips, once it is safe to do so, and celebrate their big win during their annual Christmas party with close friends and family.
