One very lucky ticket holder in Virginia has officially won the $348 million Mega Millions jackpot from the Friday, June 28 drawing—marking one of the largest lottery wins in the United States this year and the biggest in Virginia’s history.

The winning ticket was sold at E & C VA, Inc., a convenience store located in Burgess, Northumberland County, about 80 miles northeast of Richmond. The retailer will also receive a bonus for selling the ticket that matched all five white balls plus the Mega Ball.

Winning Numbers
The numbers drawn were: 13, 25, 50, 51, 66, and the Mega Ball was 6.
The Megaplier for this draw was 5x.

This winning combination made someone an overnight multimillionaire and brought national attention to Virginia’s growing history of Mega Millions success.

 Virginia’s Biggest Jackpot Ever
This is Virginia’s largest Mega Millions win since the state joined the game in 2002. The previous state record jackpot was a $239 million prize won back in 2004. The new $348 million prize not only breaks that record—it crushes it.

This jackpot had been rolling since it was last won in April, going through 20 consecutive drawings without a winner before finally landing in Virginia. It’s the fifth Mega Millions jackpot win of 2025 so far.

 Lump Sum or Annuity?
The winner, who has not yet come forward, will have the choice between:

Annuity option: The full $348 million paid over 30 years.
Lump sum: An estimated $155 million cash payout (before taxes).
Federal taxes of 24% and Virginia state tax of 4% will be withheld. That still leaves the winner with a life-changing amount of money and the opportunity to make history.

Winners in Virginia have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize.

 A Reminder to All Players
If you purchased a ticket in Virginia for the June 28 Mega Millions draw—check your numbers! You could be holding a ticket worth millions.

Even if you didn’t hit the jackpot, millions of dollars in secondary prizes are still up for grabs in every draw, including for those who match just the five white balls.

 Game Changes Driving Bigger Wins
The recent changes to Mega Millions earlier this year—including a ticket price increase from $2 to $5 and adjustments to prize tiers—have already contributed to larger jackpots and enhanced prize structures. The result? More excitement, more record-breaking wins, and more reasons to play.
